The tour starts from Lumignano, which hosts the fair of peas in March. It then passes through the municipalities of Costozza and Longare, famous for mushrooms, and pork to reach Montegalda, seat of the great Brunello distillery. Here the visitor finds the park of Villa Fogazzaro.
In the second part of the tour, heading to Barbarano municipality, the tour crosses Montegaldella and Nanto, famous for their chestnut trees and the truffles of the Berici Hills, the renowned mushroom which is celebrated in dedicated festivities in July.
The final section of the tour is devoted to wines, thanks to the wide presence of vineyards and wineries that offer great tasting accompanied by cold cuts and local cheeses. The itinerary ends in Barbarano, stopping at the oil-press where visitors can learn about the process of extracting oil and also taste the olive oil.

Tourism points of interest
Renewed old seventeenth century building, Villa Feriani today offers tourists passing by two elegant apartments and the possibility to buy jams and sausages produced in the lands of the Villa Feriani family.
Established in 1840, the Brunello Brothers Distillery is now run by the fourth generation of the family. The distillery produces high quality and renowned spirits from native grapes of the area of Vicenza and Padua.
Designed by Francesco Oliviera around the middle of the sixteenth century, Villa Sangiantofetti-Rigon is the result of a series of renovations and extensions of a building which was one of the many “Dominical Homes” owned by the Traverso family in Barbarano Vicentino.
Today, it is private Villa which can be visited on appointment. It has a large garden, a small church and a Portico dedicated to events and Weddings.
The Piovene Porto Godi family produces wine and oil in Toara, one of the best areas of the Berici Hills for grapesand olive farms. As always, the choice falls on the local grapes, like the Tai Rosso; while in bottling, the respect for time is the secret to obtaining high quality wines. This family-run business also offers hospitality. Those looking for the experience of living in a country home surrounded by the hills of Vicenza can stay in the old mill or the dovecote of the house.
The Olive Press of Barbarano, active since 1963, offers guided tours inside the mill to discover the procedures to turn the olives of the hills in a delicious Venetian “DOP” oil. Within the premises there is also a selling point of the oils produced.
Family business of around 14 hectares, all in vineyard. With its own grapes, the company produces five typologies of DOC wines rewarded with several awards: Garganego, Sauvignon, Tocai, Merlot and Cabernet.
The farm offers the possibility to taste and buy wine and oil products with the fruits of the land of the Berici hills. Their woods also include an extraordinary Longobard archeological site: the tombs carved into the rock forming an ancient necropolis.
The winery was founded in 1927 and since then it takes care of all the manufacturing steps respecting the land and the traditions, from the care for the vineyard tothe grape harvesting by hand, from fermentation to bottling. Specialties of the cellar are Tai Rosso, Rovea, the Brut Rosé, Tai, Cabernet and Moscato and Pinot.
Costalunga Wines is situated in Villa Maffei Costalunga, part of an architectural complex dating from the 15th century. The family-run company produces excellent wine with its own grapes, such as: Tai Rosso, Cabernet, Filò, Brut, Rosé Pier and Marzemino. Guided tours, educational tours, themed tastings are possible by appointment.
In the wonderful natural environment of the province of Vicenza lies the old palace of the Brunello family, called “Il Palazzone” by the inhabitants of Montegalda. The accommodation has six rooms with bathroom, air conditioning, TV and phone. The dining room occupies the original stables. The furnishings are entirely made of wood, with a warm and welcoming style. The large green areas are fully accessible by guests.
The house is a former parish asylum from the ’40s, fully restored. It offers hospitality with 10/13 beds and breakfast service buffet. Today is a meeting place for climbers, walkers and hikers offering local dishes accompanied by local wines and craft beers. The property also includes 5 rooms with private bathrooms.
